MONTER experiments with sounds from yesterday and techniques from tomorrow.
Their debut project, “TelePorter me, please!”, is an ongoing artistic research and a progressive journey through the repertoire, life, and emotions of Cole Porter [1891–1964]. It is a search rather than a finished statement: an exploration of his songs and lyrics, his musical transgressive behavior, and his pioneering lifestyle.
As part of this investigation, MONTER dives into the experimental sampling of Helene’s voice. Sentences and words are fragmented, looped, and reshaped into rhythm, turning the voice into a musical engine. Structures dissolve and overlap, and over time the listener may lose the sense of whether they are listening to one song or to several songs unfolding simultaneously.
